Research

As well as making art in my sleep, I've been lucky enough to collaborate with some brilliant scientists on actual peer-reviewed research into what I do.

Over a two-year period, Antonio Zadra at the Université de Montréal and I conducted a series of experiments in which I asked characters in my lucid dreams to produce drawings for me. What they came up with — and how they behaved when asked — was surprising, funny, and occasionally quite rude.

I also took part in an experiment into the phenomenon of precognitive dreams (dreams that predict the future) with Julia Mossbridge, Chris French, Alan Pickering, and Damon Abraham, in which we used my drawings along with AI scoring to examine whether my lucid dreams might contain information about future events.
